I joined this forum over one week ago, on July 1st. I believe I was the first 'true' member, not including the staff (and heyheyanoko -- I assume her only post was deleted due to illiteracy, because I can't find it, and what's more, she hasn't logged in since the day she joined). For this, being the first actual member, I was proud. Was. Not am. Not anymore.
This will be my third post on this forum. After over a week, I expected it to be my twentieth. I have made one IC post here, and haven't been able to add anymore because "Cassehh" hasn't kept to her word. She promised to post the day after Independence Day, which was five days ago. I understand that you are busy, but it upsets me when a role player, or anyone for that matter, makes promises he or she cannot keep.
At least one new member has joined and posted their bio. It has yet to be approved by a staff member -- or shall we say the staff member. Fuji and Nocturne are one and the same.
I don't usually complain about such things. Normally I would just leave an inactive forum, but this is my first canine RPG. I adore the plot; I adore the members, however few of them there are. I hate to be rude, or bossy, or whatever else you might classify this post to be, but WE NEED MORE ACTIVITY. This forum will never get off the ground at this rate, especially if our only staff member has disappeared.
Nocturne, Fuji, Cassehh, whoever you are, wherever you are -- I'd be willing to help you if you need assistance. I understand that real life can be demanding at times, but I'd hate to see such a creative RPG fade away.

I've been checking the board every day since I registered. It's kind of sad that this is the first new post I've seen since then.
I do hope my character gets approved.
I signed up in the first place because it was small-- being fairly new to roleplaying, the huge sites with thousands of posts seemed a bit intimidating. If I were to get in at the beginning of this one, I thought, my character could start interacting with a fairly small number of other characters, making it easier to work with.
But I haven't been able to RP at all! I'll keep checking back anyways, just in case, but it seems that a lot of newer RPs fade away after a few posts.

Kibeth! Hiya.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one here who agrees (and that I'm not the only one here, period -- this place is so empty). Larger RPs seem to ignore or overlook new members. I'm not very good with names, and I didn't want to join my first dog forum so that I would be, as you said, intimidated by wolf speakers (the "mitts," "ivories," and "orbs" folks, if you know what I mean).
I wish Cassehh had posted her IM address somewhere so I could contact her...

I really don't get why people feel the need to call eyes "ocks" or "orbs". It's not as if it's an abbreviation-- in some cases the wolfspeak word is longer!
I guess it might sound more poetic, but it's still strange.
When an RP has 500 members, I suppose it's understandable that newbies would get lost in the crowd.
By the way, my username and character are both references to the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix. Have you ever read them?

Role players who use wolf speak are insecure, I think. They feel the need to "show off" in any way possible and shred their Thesauruses in order to do so. I once met a role player who used the term "blinkers" for eyes. It reminded me of... an automobile? Ridiculous!
As for the Abhorsen Trilogy -- no, I have never read any books in the series, but I just looked it up on Wikipedia, and it does seem very fascinating. The first book is Sabriel, is it? I'll see if the library has a copy. ^^;
While we're on the subject of books, I recommend His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, and Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (not to mention The Lord of the Rings -- 'tis a masterpiece).

I've read His Dark Materials and the first two books of Lord of the Rings (I really need to get to the third...) I'll look into the others.
The Abhorsen trilogy is one of the most original fantasy series I've ever read. Sabriel is the first book, followed by Lirael and Abhorsen.

You've read HDM? ^^; That reminds me... have you ever heard of The Dæmon Page? Or The Dæmon Forum? *hugs her own unsettled, mink-formed dæmon, Meiwaku*
This board is getting really off-topic. But it makes it so much more interesting. *nod*

Ah! I take it you saw my ad, then? ^^; Spiffy.
If Cassehh doesn't post today, do you suppose we could role play anyhow? I'm sure she wouldn't mind -- your bio seems perfect to me. Maybe a little activity is all this board needs to attract some new members.

Yes, I saw your ad.
If she doesn't post by tomorrow, I'd be happy to start roleplaying. Lack of activity is a major turnoff for new members when it comes to RP boards.
It might not be the same without the Nocturne character (I think that his name), seeing as he's a major part of the plot (or so I gathered from the plot description). I originally designed Kibeth to be a sort of counter to him-- someone genetically engineered and used by humans, yet who harbored no hate for them in general.
Ah well. I'm sure we'll manage.

Sorry about my absence there - family life has been a little hectic this last week or so.
I think it's great that you've created Kibeth as a counter to Nocturne - and if you want her to take one of the other packlands that's fine with me =]
In case I end up disappearing again, I'm going to put you both in the Global Mod positions so you can keep this place going if I can't get on the pc for a week or two.

There you are, finally! Welcome back, and thank you for the position. *salutes* I shall try my best to keep this place alive along with Arc. We won't let you down.
I ought to scurry off to type a response to your post now. =D

Hey. Just Like to say that I've just joined. I didn't know where to put my bio application, so I mailed it to the admin. My character is called Gunner; he's a 3 year old Pharaoh Hound. I would elaborate, but I'm really tired right now. XD I joined here via TDF too. My daemon's called Jemiron.

It seems that that site creator isn't very active, are they? I can't wait to rp dog/wolf again, it's been so long since I have.
When I'm approved I'll roleplay too. Sound good?
